THE LAW OF MENTALISM (continued)

blogadmin | 04 January, 2011 11:48

Let us start this section by quoting James Allen again:

The aphorism, "As a man thinketh in his heart so is he," not only embraces the whole of a man's being, but is so comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and circumstance of his life. A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts.

As the plant springs from, and could not be without, the seed, so every act of man springs from the hidden seeds of thought, and could not have appeared without them. This applies equally to those acts called "spontaneous" and "unpremeditated" as to those which are deliberately executed.

Act is the blossom of thought, and joy and suffering are its fruits; thus does a man garner in the sweet and bitter fruitage of his own husbandry.

Man is made or unmade by himself. In the armoury of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself. He also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace.

Only by much searching and mining are gold and diamonds obtained, and man can find every truth connected with his being, if he will dig deep into the mine of his soul. That he is the maker of his character, the moulder of his life, and the builder of his destiny, he may unerringly prove, if he will watch, control, and alter his thoughts, tracing their effects upon himself, upon others and upon his life and circumstances, linking cause and effects by patient practice and investigation. And utilizing his every experience, even the most trivial, everyday occurrence, as a means of obtaining that knowledge of himself which is understanding, wisdom, power. In this direction is the Law of absolute that "He that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." For only by patience, practice, and ceaseless importunity can a man enter the door of the temple of knowledge.

Why?

Because:

Mind is creative, and conditions, environment and all experiences in life are the result of our habitual or predominant mental attitude.

Recognition is a mental process, mental action is therefore the interaction of the individual upon the Universal Mind (THE ALL), and as the Universal Mind (THE ALL) is the intelligence which pervades all space and animates all living things, this mental action and reaction is the law of causation, but the principle of causation does not obtain in the individual but in the Universal Mind (THE ALL). It is not an objective faculty but a subjective process, and the results are seen in an infinite variety of conditions and experiences.

THE UNIVERSE, AND ALL IT CONTAINS, IS A MENTAL CREATION OF THE ALL.

And, in the degree that You realize the existence of the Indwelling Spirit immanent within your being, so will you rise in the spiritual scale of life. This is what in spiritual development means: the recognition, realization, and manifestation of the Spirit within us.

In order to express life there must be mind; nothing can exist without mind. Everything which exists is some manifestation of this one basic substance from which and by which all things have been created and are continually being recreated.

We live in a fathomless sea of plastic mind substance (The Ether). This substance is ever alive and active. It is sensitive to the highest degree. It takes form according to the mental demand. Thought forms the mould or matrix from which the substance expresses.

The Universal Mind is the totality of all mind which is in existence. Spirit is Mind, because spirit is intelligent. The difficulty with which you have to contend is to realize that mind is not individual. It is omnipresent. It exists everywhere. In other words, there is no place where it is not. It is, therefore, Universal. It is ALL IN ALL.

We live in a thought world, which is a part of a thought Universe.

Every thought or form held in thinking substance causes the creation of the form.

No thought or form can be impressed upon the original substance without causing the creation of the form.

To do things in a way you want to do them, you will have to acquire the ability to think the way you want to think.

To think what you want to think is to think truth, regardless of appearances.

As thought is creative, and the truth is the highest and most perfect thought which anyone can think, it is self-evident that to think the truth is to create that which is true and it is again evident that when truth comes into being that which is false must cease to be.

Now, the only activity which the spirit possesses is the power to think. Therefore, thought must be creative, because spirit is creative. This creative power is impersonal and your ability to think is your ability to control it and make use of it for the benefit of yourself and others.

The Universe is alive. In order to express life there must be mind; nothing can exist without mind. Everything which exists is some manifestation of this one basic substance from which and by which all things have been created and are continually being recreated. It is man’s capacity to think that makes him a creator instead of a creature.

All things are the result of the thought process. Man has accomplished the seemingly impossible because he has refused to consider it impossible.

Direct your effort to a realization of the mental resources, always at your command, from which all real and lasting power comes.

Persist in this practice until you come to a realization of the fact that there can be no failure in the accomplishment of any proper object in life if you but understand your power and persist in your object, because the mind-forces are ever ready to lend themselves to a purposeful will, in the effort to crystallize thought and desire into actions, events and conditions.

Knowledge of our ability to consciously radiate health, strength and harmony will bring us into a realization that there is nothing to fear because we are in touch with Infinite Strength.

This knowledge can be gained only by making practical application of this information. We learn by doing.

You are dwelling in the Infinite Mind of THE ALL, and your possibilities and opportunities are infinite, both in time and space.

Verily indeed, ALL IS MIND!

I. THE LAW OF MENTALISM

blogadmin | 26 March, 2010 11:15

Here again we remind you of the seven Laws of Success. They are:

I THE LAW OF MENTALISM

II THE LAW OF CORRESPONDENCE

III THE LAW OF VIBRATION

IV THE LAW OF POLARITY

V THE LAW OF RHYTHM

VI THE LAW OF CAUSE AND EFFECT

VII THE LAW OF GENDER

A new era is now dawning for mankind. As the curtain opens on a new century, a new play with new performers is about to replace the one that is currently running on the world stage. The future of any nation will soon be measured by the level of intelligence of its citizens and the strength of their understanding of Natural Forces.

We begin today our journey to Success with the first and the most important law of creation, which is the Law of Mentalism.

This Principle embodies the truth that "All is Mind." It explains that THE ALL (which is the Substantial Reality underlying all the outward manifestations and appearances which we know under the terms of "The Material Universe"; the "Phenomena of Life"; "Matter"; "Energy", and in short, all that is apparent to our material senses) is SPIRIT which in itself is UNKNOWABLE and UNDEFINABLE, but which may be considered and thought of as A UNIVERSAL, INFINITE, LIVING MIND in which Mind we "live and move and have our being."

Even the scientific community begins to understand that what we call "Matter" is simply pure energy with different degrees of vibrations from finer to denser.

So, this Principle explains the true nature of "Energy", "Power," and "Matter," and why and how all these are subordinate to the Mastery of Mind. Without this Mastery a man cannot live a successful Life.

If the Universe exists at all, or seems to exist, it must proceed in some way from THE ALL--it must be a creation of THE ALL. But as something can never come from nothing, from what could THE ALL have created it?

The answer is simple: He CREATES MENTALLY! And in so doing he uses no outside materials, nor does he reproduce himself, and yet His Spirit spreads through and is perceived in every part of the Mental Creation.

Following the Principle of Correspondence, we are justified in considering that THE ALL creates the Universe MENTALLY, in a manner similar to the process whereby Man creates Mental Images. THE ALL can create in no other way except mentally, without either using material (and there is none to use), or else reproducing himself (which is also impossible).

Just as you may create a Universe of your own in your mentality, so does THE ALL creates Universes in his own Mentality. The two are similar in kind, but infinitely different in degree.

The Infinite Mind of THE ALL is the womb of Universes!

The Principle of Gender is manifested on all planes of life, material mental and spiritual. By "Gender", we do not mean "Sex"; sex is merely a material manifestation of gender. "Gender" here means relating to generation or creation. And whenever anything is generated or created, on any plane, the Principle of Gender must be manifested. And this is true even in the creation of Universes.

There is no duality here, THE ALL is ONE... the two Aspects (masculine and feminine) are merely aspects of manifestation. The Masculine Principle manifested by THE ALL stands, in a way, apart from the actual mental creation of the Universe. It projects its Will toward the Feminine Principle (which may be called "Nature") whereupon the latter begins the actual work of the evolution of the Universe, from simple "centers of activity" on to man, and then on and on still higher, all according to well-established and firmly enforced Laws of Nature. This is more than a mere poetic figure of speech--it is an idea of the actual process of the creation of the Universe. But always remember, that THE ALL is but One, and that in its Infinite Mind the Universe is generated, created and exists.

It may help you to get the proper idea, if you will apply the Law of Correspondence to yourself, and your own mind. You know that the part of You which you call "I," in a sense, stands apart and witnesses the creation of mental Images in your own mind. The part of your mind in which the mental generation is accomplished may be called the "Me" in distinction from the "I" which stands apart and witnesses and examines the thoughts, ideas and images of the "Me".

"As above, so below," remember, and the phenomena of one plane may be employed to solve the riddles of higher or lower planes.

You are dwelling in the Infinite Mind of THE ALL, and your possibilities and opportunities are infinite, both in time and space.

You become what you think about! Verily indeed, ALL IS MIND!

Something can never evolve from nothing. Something can never become nothing. Mind is subject to no other Power, for there is no other Power.

We do not live in a world of dreams, but in a Universe which while relative, is real so far as our lives and actions are concerned. Our business in the Universe is not to deny its existence, but to LIVE, using the Laws to rise from lower to higher - living on, doing the best that we can under the circumstances arising each day, and living, so far as is possible, to our highest ideas and ideals. The true Meaning of Life is not known to men on this plane. If, indeed, to any - but the

highest authorities, and our own intuitions, teach us that we will make no mistake in living up to the best that is in us, so far as is possible, and realizing the Universal tendency in the same direction in spite of apparent evidences to the contrary. We are all on The Path - and the road leads upward ever, with frequent resting places.

The possession of Knowledge, unless accompanied by a manifestation and expression in Action, is like the hoarding of precious metals - a vain and foolish thing. Knowledge, like wealth, is intended for Use. The Law of Use is Universal, and he who violates it suffers by reason of his conflict with natural forces.

Knowledge without Use and Expression is a vain thing, bringing no good to its possessor, or to the race. Beware of Mental Miserliness, and express into Action that which you have learned. Study the Axioms and Aphorisms, but practise them also.

James Allen wrote:

The aphorism, "As a man thinketh in his heart so is he," not only embraces the whole of a man's being, but is so comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and circumstance of his life. A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts.

For only by patience, practice, and ceaseless importunity can a man enter the door of the temple of knowledge.

Napoleon Hill in his legendary book "Think And Grow Rich" wrote:

When Henley wrote the prophetic lines, "I am the Master of my Fate, I am the Captain of my Soul," he should have informed us that we are the Masters of our Fates, the Captains of our Souls, because we have the power to control our thoughts.

He should have told us that the ETHER in which this little earth floats, in which we move and have our being, is a form of energy moving at an inconceivably high rate of vibration, and that the ETHER is filled with a form of universal power which ADAPTS itself to the nature of the thoughts we hold in our minds; and INFLUENCES us, in natural ways, to transmute our thoughts into physical equivalent.

If the poet had told us of this great truth, we would know WHY IT IS that we are the Masters of our Fates, the Captains of our Souls. He should have told us, with great emphasis that this power makes no attempt to discriminate between destructive thoughts and constructive thoughts, that it will urge us to translate into physical reality thoughts of poverty, just as quickly as it will influence us to act upon thoughts of riches.

He should have told us, too, that our brains become magnetized with the dominating thoughts which we hold in our minds, and, by means with which no man is familiar, these "magnets" attract to us the forces, the people, the circumstances of life which harmonize with the nature of our dominating thoughts…

To be successful, you need two things: attitude and aptitude. Which of the two is more important?

We say: Attitude.

You may argue: Come now, do you really believe that a positive attitude is more important than knowledge or talent?

We reply: If you have the right attitude, you can always persist until get the aptitude. But if you do not have the right attitude, it does not matter what your aptitude. It is your attitude that determines your aptitude.

To be continued…

How to value Stocks

blogadmin | 23 October, 2009 10:29

Instead of borrowing cash to pay for its investments, a firm can sell new shares of common stock to investors. Whereas bond issues commit the firm to make a series of specified interest payments to the lenders, stock issues are more like taking on new partners. The stockholders all share in the fortunes of the firm according to the number of shares they hold. We will take a first look at stocks, the stock market, and principles of stock valuation.

We start by looking at how stocks are bought and sold. Then we look at what determines stock prices and how stock valuation formulas can be used to infer the rate of return that investors are expecting. We will see how the firm’s investment opportunities are reflected in the stock price and why stock market analysts focus so much attention on the price-earnings, or P/E ratio of the company.

Why should you care how stocks are valued? After all, if you want to know the value of a firm’s stock, you can look up the stock price in The Financial Paper. But you need to know what determines prices for at least two reasons. First, you may wish to check that any shares that you own are fairly priced and to gauge your beliefs against the rest of the market. Second, corporations need to have some understanding of how the market values firms in order to make good capital budgeting decisions. A project is attractive if it increases shareholder wealth. But you can’t judge that unless you know how shares are valued.

After studying this material you should be able to

  • Understand the stock trading reports in the financial pages of the newspaper.
  • Calculate the present value of a stock given forecasts of future dividends and future stock price.
  • Use stock valuation formulas to infer the expected rate of return on a common stock.
  • Interpret price-earnings ratios.

It is Easy to Succeed!

blogadmin | 19 October, 2009 04:20

Welcome to our blog! In this platform, we will lead you down new paths. We will help you discover your acre of diamonds. If you stay with us, you will gather great ideas about success. This is a synthese of a lifetime research, reading and refining. It is about seven Principles which will bring order and success in your life.
These Principles will bring wonders regarless of what path you choose in your life. The Principles have been there all the time; they form a constellation by which you and I can safely and successfully navigate.

Success in life is not a matter of luck, of circumstance, of fate or of who you know. It is matter of following a common sense paradigm of rules, guidelines that anyone can follow. And we will show you how to do JUST that! The rules that we will talk about do not change. They are applied to any situation, under any and all circumstances. We do not need to say: "I wonder how it will work in this particular situation?". All we have to do is make these ideas our own.
One of the most overlooked facts of life is that millionaires need not be born with good luck or riches, they need only be destined to be fortunate in the future. Then, even if they are down on their luck, the appropriate attitude will quickly propel them to their proper place in the world. Besides, Nature seems to love helping fiercely determined people climb the ladder of success.

These principles encourage self-discipline instead of conflict and contention with others.
Like all roads, this road to Riches allows you to move forward on your journey, not backward. You will find this road easy to follow if you stay on the main path and avoid taking shortcuts that lead you off the safest and surest route. You will also find that, as with any other journey, the first step is always the most important and yet the most difficult one to take. It must be taken quickly and without hesitation, then the rest of the journey will be easier to complete. If you persevere in your journey, you will soon discover that to be successful, you must move ahead with confidence.

The Philosophy of Success teaches you that your worst enemy is the "me first" syndrome that causes you to place your own interests above anything else. By fighting against your own ego instead of fighting against the world, you learn self-discipline and thus develop a new and more mature personality that makes you suitable for the practice of Mastery. You must fight and conquer yourself before you will make any substantial progress.

The Seven Laws of Success, upon which this entire blog is based, are as follows:

  1. THE LAW OF MENTALISM
  2. THE LAW OF CORRESPONDENCE
  3. THE LAW OF VIBRATION
  4. THE LAW OF POLARITY
  5. THE LAW OF RHYTHM
  6. THE LAW OF CAUSE AND EFFECT
  7. THE LAW OF GENDER
These Seven Laws will be discussed and explained as we proceed with these topics. A short explanation of each, however, may as well given at this point.

THE LAW OF MENTALISM (Attitude)

You are the master of your fate, the captain of your soul, because you have the power to control your thoughts.
An understanding of this great Principle of Mentalism enables you to readily grasp the laws of the Mental Universe, and to apply the same to your well-being and advancement. You are enabled to apply intelligently the great Mental Laws, instead of using them in a haphazard manner. It is vital for your succes.

THE LAW OF CORRESPONDENCE (Mirror Effect)

As above, so below; as within, so without! Your environment is a Mirror of what is happening inside you. Before you can be rich in the outside, you must be rich in the inside. As within, so without!
Our brains become magnetized with the dominating thoughts which we hold in our minds, and, by means with which no man is familiar, these “magnets” attract to us the forces, the people, the circumstances of life which harmonize with the nature of our dominating thoughts.

THE LAW OF VIBRATION (Action)

Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.
That is to say, it is not enough to have an idea. What is important is that you must have a plan and start putting that plan in action! Faith without deed is dead!
You will succeed if you choose a definite goal; place all your energy, all your will power, all your effort, everything back of that goal. You must want success more than anything else. Create a plan by which to attain that purpose.

THE LAW OF POLARITY (Balance)

Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled. Everything is and isn't, at the same time.
If you are possessed of Fear, do not waste time trying to 'kill out' Fear, but instead cultivate the quality of Courage, and the Fear will disappear.

THE LAW OF RHYTHM (Indirect Effort)

Before you are able to enjoy a certain degree of pleasure, you must have swung as far, proportionately, toward the other pole of feeling. You should search for Riches, not directly but indirectly; that is to say, you must first serve before you can get the reward. So simple, isn't? There is no such thing as absolute rest, or cessation from movement and all movement partakes of rhythm. The Principle is of universal application. It may be applied to any question, or phenomena of any of the many planes of life. It may be applied to all phases of human activity.

THE LAW OF CAUSE AND EFFECT (Service and Reward)

Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything happens according to Law
Stop to think a moment. If a certain man had not met a certain maid, away back in the dim period of the Stone Age you who are now reading these lines would not now be here. And if, perhaps, the same couple had failed to meet, we who now write these lines would not now be here.
And the very act of writing, on our part, and the act of reading, on yours, will affect not only the respective lives of yourself and ourselves, but will also have a direct, or indirect, affect upon many other people now living and who will live in the ages to come. Every thought we think, every act we perform, has its direct and indirect results which fit into the great chain of Cause and Effect.

THE LAW OF GENDER (Creation)

No creation, physical, mental or spiritual, is possible without this Principle.
The Masculine Principle of Mind corresponds to the so-called Objective Mind; Conscious Mind; Voluntary Mind; Active Mind, etc. And the Feminine Principle of Mind corresponds to the so-called Subjective Mind; Sub-conscious Mind; Involuntary Mind; Passive Mind, etc.
While at first there seems to be only an 'I' existing, a more careful and closer examination reveals the fact that there exists an 'I' and a 'Me.' These mental twins differ in their characteristics and nature, and an examination of their nature and the phenomena arising from the same will throw much light upon many of the problems of mental influence.

Your being here is evidence that you are willing to pay a price to improve your situation. We sincerely wish you the best in dealing with your personal and financial challenges. You will be asked to overcome personal doubt and fear, the criticism of friends, and some self-defeating habits. You will be asked to set goals, learn new skills and become independent. Are you willing to do that?
These principles contain a secret that every successful person has mastered—a secret that you yourself will have to master if you want to be successful.
Our job is just to help you reach your goals—whatever they might be.
